I was really pleased with the haul from this year's convention. I think it might have been my favorite yet. I think I am keeping more than I usually do...which is dangerous.

I love everything about this set. So super cute. I even picked up some dynamite girls clothes to mix with these clothes. I have an extra set for sale if you are looking for her. The packaging is also so cute. I had not planned to get into the Industry line...oh well. at convention they said the line would include dolls of many ethnicities, shapes, and ages. Interesting. I'm wondering if they will reuse the Coven sculpts to make older characters? Hmmm.

They switched things up and had the Poppy event on Thursday night.  Poppy definitely deserved prime time. David Butry gave us teaser images of next year's collection: Poppy goes to Swingin' London.  I love mod so that will be fantastic.  I am really hoping we get some Biba looks too.

I haven't decided to keep this one yet.  I think she is totally gorgeous and I love the little details on the dress.  However, I am still in love with the Kyori from Premiere (Dangerous to Know) and I scored that stunning Fame Fable Kyori in my grab box. So it might be too crowded in here for her and she might leave sans her little dress and accessories. We shall see.

Erin was very cute with a great little outfit.  Had I won the right to get the motorcycle, I would have totally gotten her.  But I ended up passing.  The motorcycles sold as the convention for like $25 and they retail online for closer to $50.

New Sculpt!

This one was controversial. I have no previous experience with the first Colette sculpt so I think she is pretty cute.  Arguably, her face is pretty wide...but I still like her.  I sold one of mine and I am considering keeping the second to be my Quinn for my Scandal Dolls (Time & Again Adele as Olivia and Fine Print Elise as Abby).

I was tempted to buy her and then passed. And then immediately regretted it.  I only wanted the necklace but for what people are asking for it, I could have sold the doll and fashion and still broke even. Le sigh.

Yummy.  She is super gorgeous.  And though I don't usually do ball gowns, I might even keep the outfit.  Like the FR girls in the convention collection, this one also comes with the little vinyl dress.  So cute.  I really love the coloring and screening on this Dasha.  Interesting fact, this doll was originally planned as a salesroom exclusive based on the info found on the shipper.  I wonder who was the original convention doll?  Hmmm. 


And the final surprise was the right to purchase a Jason Wu commemorative doll featuring a new velvet touch skin tone.  I am assuming this is a similar plastic to what is used on the Love Tones dolls (which is very cool).  The doll ain't cheap.  I pre-ordered her of course.  (Two actually). I don't know if I will keep her but I am hoping I will be able to trade her for one of the future Wu dolls coming out this year. They plan to release these in conjunction with Fashion Boutiques a la the La Montaigne Market Elyse. Granted I missed out on La Montaigne because I was IN LABOR...(but was able to get the fashion later for an uncomfortable amount). Still, it might be tricky to get a hold on some of these...so trade-bait might be needed.  She is lovely...but I am not currently tempted.

Well, surprise it's another twin. People on W Club seemed mostly jazzed.  I was like....hmmm. Not sure. It feels like a whole lot of lazy rehash.  That dress seems like a variation on a dress from Luxe Life Eugenia and the jacket is the same one we got on Karolin at Live from Fashion Week (which (I sold off) The hair color is almost identical to the recent Violaine doll (whom I ADORE).  But I do love the mint dress (it has pocketssss!) and shoes quite a bit.  I am not loving the hairstyle at all and would definitely be removing the Snooki pouf hair . I love fantasy hair...but wish it weren't so similar to Violaine.  I've been wanting a minty haired doll...and maybe this one would be a perfect re-root candidate.  So I am still a little undecided.  Someone also pointed out that her stock number (82120A) could possibly indicate a corresponding Lilith version (82120B?) is coming our way (possibly for Dolly days?). Which sort of panic scares me into ordering her...hmmm.

Paris Doll Convention News

The Paris Doll Convention was this past weekend. Pictures can be seen here courtesy of the fantabulous Gerda! There was a gorgeous Raven hair Ellowyne with cute bangs and a ponytail and smokey eye makeup called Paris Blue limited to 250. The Sybarite event doll for the Saturday evening banquet was a bright red wigged doll with hot pink eye makeup and a gold and pink evening gown called Epocholypse. There was also a Raven version in a black and silver gown limited to 20 available via a special drawing. Both have lovely face paint and the wigs are in a cute haute heidi braid look. The dresses are nice..but i am not a big fan of Superdoll's gowns. I love their unique sportswear looks more. I am the same with Tonner gowns as well. Some lucky ducks walked away with the new Sybarite Fashion Victim dolls. I am very jealous as these look FABULOUS. I so want that mohawk pink wig one.... IT Dolly Days East 59th La Femme Godiva Collection with New Characters!

  Well another gorgeous set of dolls from designer Christ Stoeckel. He and Mark Tinkey are definitely favs at the moment. The clothing here is lovely and highly detailed. We are getting two new characters which seem to be using some older sculpts.  I like them and I don't mind some stylization...but they do seem a touch out of step with the screening on Evelyn which seems more realistic.  I tried for Cora in the lottery and lost out.  I am hoping to jump on the wait list and maybe get lucky though. I am a big Mugler fan and this fashion on Cora is definitely a reference to a Mugler look as well as to Jerry Hall's locks (also a Mugler model). I missed out on preordering the rest of the ladies from the dealers.  I would really like to get Evelyn's outfit at some point.  I will be patient.
